Manton Knitwear

Hi and welcome to the Manton Knitwear website. My name is Ann de Boer and I live in a small town in South Africa called Mooi River.

I am a stay--at-home mom who runs a small knitwear manufacturing business, which I started when I was expecting my first child. I use Passap E6000 knitting machines with Creation 6 design programme. I specialize in childrens jerseys with pictures and colourful fair isle designs. I sell my knitwear at monthly craft markets along with spices, which is another small business that I run. My husband, Willem ,is my chief knitting machine mechanic and trailer and spice packer !!! I am also assisted by my two teenage children.

A small group of ladies meet at my house once a month for a very social Knitters Club meeting where knitting problems, both hand and machine are discussed and solved where possible. I try to have something new and inspiring to show them every month and I will share these ideas with you under the Knitting Club News section.

I also love to cook and do odd bits of catering now and then . I will share some of my family's favourite recipes with you under the Cooking section.
